This 150 sq. ft. office in Mumbai for a design-and-build company is a perfect example of how compact office spaces can be transformed to meet functional requirements while making a lasting impression.
The layout follows a parallel line concept, with workstations, lighting, and brass inlay lines on the terrazzo floor all aligned along the walls to create a cohesive flow. The white terrazzo flooring with brass leaf inserts complements the greenery outside, visually extending the view of plants and trees through the window.
A minimal white palette for the floor, walls, and storage units enhances the sense of openness, making the small office look spacious. The design plays with textures throughout—polished concrete surfaces, hand-plastered ceilings, exposed brick walls, fluid-shaped partitions, and woven chairs—seamlessly blending tactile variety into a cohesive aesthetic.
The heart of the space is the sample wall adjoining the staircase, a curated collage of materials collected over the years, reflecting the company’s creative journey. With abundant natural light and thoughtful design details, this tiny office offers a comfortable, functional, and visually engaging work environment.
